EDISTO RIVER STEWARDSHIP DAY 2018

April 27, 2018
Help us remove litter from Bamberg to Jacksonborro!  Friends of the Edisto Stewardship Day will be held May 12 at Colleton State Park. First held in 2002, this annual service event is designed to increase the appreciation of the river and demonstrate the impact litter has on our beautiful river. Unfortunately the people who litter are not the ones who help with the cleanup.

Many thanks to Colleton County who supports the effort by providing a dumpster at the park and having their employees make a circuit of the landings to collect trash collected by our volunteers.

Live music and a BBQ lunch prepared by Dukes of Ridgeville highlight the after party! The music starts at 10AM and lunch is served at noon.

We invite you to pick up supplies at the gazebo on Hwy 15 after 9AM. If you have a group that would like to make supply arrangements in advance please contact Howard Bridgman at 843-297-2366 or HSB0255@bellsouth.net.

Building on its years of cleanups, FRED has recently been working to have our landings adopted. Unfortunately, one or two cleanups a year isn’t enough to keep the river clean. Hugo Krispyn of FRED has signed up 14 landings on the river so far. If you would like to adopt a landing please contact Hugo Krispyn at hugo@swampvox.com.
